2 million eh?
Buy a nice-ish house for about £500k, buy some nice cars , stop working. Live off the interest on the rest.
Long term -- maybe emigrate somewhere nice (Australia?), maybe enrol for a PhD to keep the brain occupied. Perhaps some part-time consultancy work.

Very simple.
Buy a flat beside the harbour. Put a lot into savings to gain loads in interest
Then start a GroupN rally team running an Evo 5,6 or 7
And I would also have an Evo VI TME & RS for the weekends & evenings
But, that isn't going to happen, so IDGAS

I am dying to see what Mycroft would do ?
I think he would buy all the Soarers left in the world or even just one mega Soarer, in fact the last time I saw someone exhibit this kind of tendency, it was Baldrick off Blackadder buying a huge Turnip.
"Do you have any ambitions in life apart from the acquisition of turnips?"
"No"
"Baldrick, how did you manage to find a turnip that cost 400,000 pounds?"
"Well, I had to haggle."

You could do what our local rag reports tonight...
Bloke wins £14 million
Starts tracing his long lost son
Finds son, gives him £1 million
Son is running a car bodyshop
Workeds of said bodyshop turn up this morning to find he's put it into liquidation and they are all redundant
He'll be popular then...

Pay all me families debts off. Take 'em all on holiday. Make sure we all had nice new vehicles.Bank a load to earn some interest.NOT in the stock market,,,,,,,,,,, been stung there before.
Having once upon a time had a million in my grasp I know only too well how quick it goes...so's for the rest of the time I'd live life pretty normally.

Big house on the wentworth estate.
Fill garage of said house with the following cars:
My 3-door Cossie (which I would have bought back and taken to Sheady for the obligatory 550bhp upgrade)
My Astra (after a quick trip to courtney turbo for a ground up rebuild and a nitrous V6 engine)
Something nice and exotic and RWD (probably a Lambo, but I like Ferrari F40s as well)
Start my own rave organisation "The Astradance collective" and put on open air, 100% legal, but 100% free hardcore raves. the way it should be.

Life wouldn't change much really, wouldn't be into flash things, wouldn't want a huge house, I've just built a perfectly adequate sized one, the only thing that would change, is that I wouldn't have to start thinking about doing some work soon, took a couple of years out to do the house, need some pennies now, so it would be nice to win big-time, if someone could arrange that I'd be ever so grateful!

Buy a farm in south of France, build a sh1tload of villas and a twisty racing circuit on it. Rob £8000/acre from EEC for decomisioning it as farmland and charge you lot an attractive price to come and do what the fek you want for your 2 week jollies each year.

if you stuck 2M in the bank you'd not pull in a lot more than 100K per year. That is really not a lot of money, especially if you've got inflation eating into your windfall and the fact you'd want to continually dip into it.
A big splash out on a decent house, holidays, party, cars and some to your relatives wouldn't leave much change from 1M, you're now down to 50K pa.....The big issue with winning money is that it can change your life if its enough but 2M isn't guaranteed to change it forever, possibly just for 10 years or so, or not at all if you stick it in the bank. Since your'e likely to be earning only roughly a bit more than you had before.
The other thing to ask is if you are not working, then what would you do during the day ? Its likely all your mates will still be working....

If I won £2m I'd be astonished, 'cos I don't participate in the 'stupid tax' (I mean 'Lottery').
However, as has been said, £2m wouldn't be enough really. By the time you've bought a decent house, nice car, had a couple of holidays and a big party, 2/3rds of it would be gone, and the rest wouldn't last long after that.
TBH, I'd need a win of about £8-10m before I even contemplated giving up work and all that sort of stuff.

Like MarkO I don't play the lottery but if by some chance I won it then I would give most of the money away.
Perhaps I would buy a modest second home somewhere sunny and stick a new set of wheels on my Impreza but other than that I can't see what the money could give me that I don't have already.
I'm healthy, love my girlfriend of over 10yrs more than ever and don't do any work I don't want to. Life is sweet enough folks without having pots of cash- I think a lot of people who win end up having the money control them.

I'd probably buy a big 4x4 or a JCB and stalk the RSOC meets , make sure they drive nice and slow. Since they are being held up by someone in a big shiny car/tractor..., they'd like that

I had 5 and the bonus once, dont change your life. I still work 45 hours a week, and still have a mortgage. But it paid off all my debts, bought loads of nice gear for the house and a fully spammed STi4, and the money thats left is for a rainy day. Though the scoob does eat into it occasionaly for bits and bobs. When I won my money some people said wasnt I gutted just one number out. No because I had X grand I wouldn't have had and I consider my self lucky. If I had £10m in the bank I would just fill my days with travel, sport and high class hookers whilst on hooters full of coke.

How refreshing to find someone who's happy with their lott (NACRO).
And MarkO, £2m wouldn't be enough if you stay here and live a UK life, but a nice home and good lifestyle can be had elsewhere for a lot less.
I'd opt for New Zealand or Greece and live normally but without pressures.
