Just having my dinner and VH1 had a Greatest Hits on for Queen.
One of, if not the most pioneering/talented/influential bands of all time IMHO.

"It's so nice to know there's still a little magic in the air, I'll weave my spell..." I've had that playing in my head for three days.
I listened to Queen 1 and 2, and Sheer Heart Attack, back in the school days in the 1970s. Went well with hemp and a 1965 Buick Wildcat.

Queen, very cool group, and totally ironic name, which I never got when I was a young innocent lad (that'll be last week then )
Who wants to live forever? Excellent song, Mum has most of thier albums somewhere, and I have a few cd's here and there.
I remember seeing the gig at wembley on tv, then found out a mate of mine was there! what a git!
The most worrying thing? how much like a girl Roger Taylor looked like in "I want to break free" very worrying.
As for Brian May, top man! even did the music for Starfleet!

Mycroft, normally you are amusing if a little contreversial for some, a lot of you quotes are tongue in cheek but this is a public BBS and you have just used racist terms along with the homophobic ones, another Scoobynet user who is of mixed race said the only term he hates is Mongrel, hope the guy hasnt read this.
For somebody as learned, wealthy, succesful and sexually gifted as you claim to be, you really are quite childish and offensive sometimes.
We get the message you dont like Queen, you dont have to sound so spiteful about it. I quite like them, they made quite a contribution.

I can listen to a few of their songs, but to be honest, i think they are way over rated. I can't stand Bohemian Rhapsody, it annoys me, it's so pretentious. Brian May never changes his style with the times, it's so cheesy innit? not to forget his haircut
Their best work was with Bowie in 'under pressure'
I've tried to like them, but I can't

Sorry but I absolutely hated Queen . Total drivel like most mainstream stuff. Did a couple of OK tracks not exactly revolutionary though.
Beatles, Sex Pistols, The Moog, Kraftwerk, Nirvana were far more influential.

And to think I used to think Mycroft was misunderstood probably an alright kind of guy if only people would give him a chance. Often I felt lonely with these feelings considering just how much hate this one person generates but carried on smiling at his jovial and controversial banter.
Now I hate him as much as everyone else.
Pity his post was deleted. It was breathtaking.

When reading MyCroft's remarks on this thread you have to understand he has a very big problem with people's sexuality - unless it fits in with his own.
I think queen are ok, haven't listened to any of their stuff for ages. Wouldn't say they were anywhere near greatest band though.

Feel free to continue this in Scoobynet Policy, Mycroft in the relevant forum, in the meantime please allow me time in order to sort this thread back to it's original topic.
Many thanks,
Michelle.
