Who deos the best deal and how many times your salary are the building society/bank willing to give you ? ? ?

There must be a banker or something on here

1.Speak to an independant broker
2. Up to 4 or 5 times your salary (I kid ye not)

MMMMM loads of cash... that I/and lady will be paying off for the rest of our bloody lifes.... .5x your salary, tis mental :shock:

Need to find an independent blokie or bird now, anybody know any good brokers ? ?

To be honest mate you'd be better finding one locally to avoid a few trips, but as a reconmendation is CRUCIAL on such a spend ...

I was recomended by the boss - Ian Hart @ Timothy James & Partners http://www.tjpltd.co.uk/

They charge a set fee and generally the comission from the building soc covers this.

They got me a discounted flexible mortgage at slightly greater than I believed my salary allowed. Having researched these great flexible mortgages, I believed nobody discounted them so had discounted them... I shoved in an extra £500 last month, but know I can have that back if I need it. Ideal tax saver if you have to pay 40% tax on any interest you receive...

We were offered anything up to 6 times our joint salary when looking which is ridiculous. Someone has apparently come up with a 25 yr fixed at 5.39%, so at least you will know where you stand for the next 25 years.
