Places to stay near Silverstone

Girlfriend and myself are looking for nice hotels near Silverstone to stay for a few days near the end of July.
Can anyone recommend somewhere please?

Depends how far you are prepared to travel
Fawsley Hall nr Daventry is pretty good - some of the F1 teams use it during the GP weekend - probably around 10 miles from Silverstone.
Alternatively there are some good hotels in Buckingham - can't think of the name of the best one right now but if thats the one you want I will ask my friends who live there if you like.

Hi mate
If you want something a little more homely there's a great pub in Blakesley (where I live) called The Bartholomew Arms (about 4 miles from the track) or a really good farmhouse B&B in Adstone which is about a mile further away. Friends of ours stayed there following my wife's 4oth birthday bash and the breakfast is to die for (alledgedly).

A bit weird as there are pics of Princess Di everywhere! Food is good and the floorshow provided by the Lady who runs it and her toy boy lover kept us entertained. This was a couple of yrs ago and I suppose things change but it's worth a punt imbetween staying in the posher places.
