Still a wonderfully visualised movie, after all this time.
I didn't want to watch it, but I just can't stop. Always the mark of a good film.

One of the best films of all time. A bit more up to date than Alien and more action which makes it better IMHO. Bill Paxton and Micheal Biehn are brilliant together.
I have the Alien Legacy 5 dvd box set and only really ever watch Aliens. Ive always wanted a pulse rifle as much as a damn lightsabre Did you know they were made from a stripped down thompson machine gun and a FMAS shotgun? Found a guy who makes exact replicas in the US but they are in the region of £1k with all the bits he custom moulds.
I reckon Universal should get Cameron in again to help them make an Aliens dropship ride in their theme parks. He did an amazing job with arnie and co doing the Terminator 2 3D show.
Simon.

on the box set didnt they put the original soundtrack back on, which was more intense
Did you also know the pulse rifle handle, was in fact from a black & decker cordless drill, and the cartidge was the battery
I worked with a guy once, who had quite a lot of alien props, include quite a few eggs in his back garden, Michael Biens body armour, ripleys leather jacket, and a number of Alien heads

Aliens - great flick, one of my favourites and the best (IMHO) of the series. Although I like them all - probably because each has a different tone and atmosphere.
Incidentally, while Michael "Hicks" Biehn played one of the lead characters (Kyle Reese) in The Terminator, Bill "Hudson" Paxton was also in the film.
Check one of the opening scenes, where a naked Arnold Schwarzenegger turns up and beats up three punks for their clothes. The punk with the blue hair - that's Bill Paxton....

Not forgetting of course:
"I am ready, man. Ready to get it on. Check-it-out. I am the ultimate badass...state of the badass art. You do not want to **** with me. Hey, Ripley, don't worry. Me and my squad of ultimate badasses will protect you. Check-it-out...
Independently targeting particle-beam phalanx. VWAP! Fry half a city with this puppy. We got tactical smart-missiles, phased-plasma pulse-rifles, RPG's. We got sonic electronic ballbreakers, we got nukes, we got knives...sharp sticks..."

"How do I get out of this Chicken**** outfit"
One of my all time fave films (had the first 3 on Vid set, then theAlien Legacy Box Set)
I love the Automated Turret guns, I can't see why they took then out of the film, other than time constraints.
One of Lance Henriksen's (sp) better films (another Cameron actor, Terminator, etc...)

F*ck*n' A!
Was it the Director's Cut last night, or just the regular version?
Trivia: the big guns carried by Vasquez & the other bloke were based around German Spandau MP41s, fact fans ...

Top film.
Cameron definately has his favourites. Rick Rossokovski ( excuse spelling ) was in a few as well, and also Top Gun. Quite a few of the Alien / Terminator / Predetor crew were interchangeable. Perhaps you have an agency in LA that is " Rent-A-Furture Soldier INC " But if there ain't there should be.

My favoutite all time Si-Fi film, did not see it last nite, was it the special edition with the extra scenes.
I was lucky enough to meet the senior model/props maker for this film, he still had some of the prototype weapons and drop ship models for me to pour over, heaven!

brickboy / Paul,
Yup - it was the special edition. Didn't actually watch all of it last night, but switched on when Hudson and Vasquez were setting up the auto sentry guns. "Fire in the hole!!.."
Oh and while we're quoting, here's a sentry gun related one -
"Next time they can walk right up and knock."
"Yeah - but they don't know that."
...or something like that
