I think I own the smelliest dog in the world!! Even people with dogs think he's disgusting! I've tried nearly everything (grooming spray, doggy deo, dry powder shampoo, shampoo foam, wet shampoo, poodle parlor, tea tree oil spray, I've even sprayed him with febreze!!!!) and he still smells fusty!!!!!
Any suggestions?

Had his **** glands and teeth checked. They are fine. It's his hair that smells. It's like doggy BO!!!! Imagine a normal dog smell and then make it 20 times worse!!!!
Smell not helped by the fact he walks round burping and farting!! YES!! I'm still talking about the dog before I get any comments about my other half!!!
Edited to say......MOSES YOU ARE SICK!!!!!!

My mothers bulldog has a permanently leaking ****. The smell is so bad that chemical Ali tried to sign it up for warfare. This dog farts just about every time it inhales.
Back to the main subject - if the hair smells that bad (assuming the dog is long haired) get it closely clipped and see if still as bad. Otherwise try the dry cleaners.
My big red psycho dog came in from the garden the other night looking pleased with himself and then he breathed out. The stink of rotten fish filled the room. He'd eaten some rank mussels that the seagulls must have dropped. Gave him one of those ice breath fresheners. You should have seen his face. He won't do that again
Alas

**** me havnt laffed so much in ages at these replies. i would agree with the coat clipping thing. me mum clips dogs in her spare time and you want to see some of the sorry messes that come in to her. owners just can be arsed lookin after them properly so they bring them to me ma once every 3 months. you swear you can actually see the dog liven up when all the $hite is trimmed off because the feel so much better.
get the coat trimmed off. he may look stoopid for a while but at least it will eliminated the coat as the reason for the smell.
cheers
big sinky

Got home last night and noticed that he also has the worst case of dandruff EVER!!!!

The dandruff is probably a reaction to all the washing and attention the coat has been getting lately. It's not good for a dog's coat/skin to be washed so frequently. I wouldn't recommend tea-tree oil either as this is a very strong oil which plays havoc with sensitive skin.

I've not washed him for a long time, I've been suffering with the smell to see if he was reacting to being washed! He had dandruff when we first got him but that went away. For some reason it's back with a vengence!
The only thing I have been doing is putting flea treatment at the back of his neck.
I'm wondering if his smell is the reason his previous owners abandoned him (he's a rescue dog).

I havent laughed so much in ages
We used to have a doberman and it brings back a lot of memories
He didnt stink, but he did like to roll in sheep p!ss
You wouldnt believe the stench thenand he would look so pleased with himself:confuesed:
And boy can dogs fart.
And they dont even have the decency to make a loud noise
Its just a quiet sssssss . Then wait till it hits you
Now i think back -
He did stink

Sure he's not got mange. Try one of these comb things to see. Especially if dandruff(or eczema) is appearing.
Mine's now got a bald patch due to an allergy and boy does it look daft. I've got the only punk dog in Fort William. Still due to his size, tombstone teeth and the red eyes no-one takes the ****. You'll need to get it sorted before the hair starts falling out.
Best of luck.
