We have a Bosch one that has (so far) been problem-free. IMHO you want one with as few options as possible -- yuo don't need lots of different programmes on a dishwasher, just 'wash'. Ours has four (super, normal, economy and rinse only) which is three too many, IMHO

We've had a zanussi for about 15 years. Only problems have been a failed inlet valve (early fault, was replaced under warranty) and late last year when a wire broke where the door hinges.

As you said twice the price but last forever....its a good investment. None of the hassle of changing it after 3 or 4 years that you get with cheaper models and its definately cheaper than a divorce

Bosch. Not as pricey as Mielle, but good all the same. Get 'em somewhere cheap on the web like http://www.trade-appliances.co.uk.

As an ex White Goods 'supremo' I'd still recommend Bosch diswashers with no hesitation.

Superb build, quiet and as reliable as any other. Comparing it wih our ('inherited') Zanussi is like Merc v Fiat

Bosch...I've had two other makes and this is the best....the cheaper and simpler ones are the way to go as there is less to go wrong and they are amazingly efficient these days

My Bosch kept going wrong, no matter how many times it was repaired, so I've switched to a Siemens one.

Try and get one with an anti-flood mechanism (ie. switches itself off it water leaks into the base for whatever reason)

PSLewis,
if its any help, i've had 2 zanussis, the first lasting 8 years
no probs at all, just went dead 1 day, so chuck out time!!!

i managed to get another one near enough the same.

i think its a case of "you pays yer money,......." in this game
and i'm sure there are a few rogue machines in even the top ranges

good luck
BB

It's Bosch, Siemens and Neff that are the same internally.

The only problem we've had with our Bosch is the low salt light.

Interestingly, there is no difference between the semi-integrated type and the free standing ones. You pay more for having less bits fitted to it... (And these bits are easy to remove)

Question

Mielle maybe, BUT they are more than twice the price of the budget models.

We have had an Indesit for 3 years its been **** since day one and the wife has said its the Dishwasher or her - I said they were the same!!! NOT a wise move!

So, come on which one should I choose? anyone doing any offers? on-line deals anywhere??

Pete
