I'm off to Thailand on holiday in a few weeks, and having been there before, I know everything is dirt cheap to buy, and I do mean everything. I am considering buying a new mobile phone, and wondered if I bought an offline one abroad, would it work in the UK. As well as being cheap, they had phones there before that were released about 6 months before the UK.

There are more reported cases af Sars in the UK than in Thailand.

Chargers I can get over here no problem, but just wondered if there were any limitations with regards to the phone itself.

Hi mate,

I got my 7210 imported from hong kong last year in september, ive had no problems at all with it, even though the phone does have the option to use foreign text on it, mine came set in english! so its pretty much identical to the UK version (but cheaper )

I got it over the net, as far as I can tell if you get a nokia phone thats on sale in the uk (or due to be) then your pretty safe to buy.

But im no expert!

Asia is OK as they use GSM standard, buying phones in the US is a bit trickier. Just make sure its GSM and your fine.

I think phones like Nokia's are pretty standard around the world. Just need to pick a phone now.
