For the grooms speech, don't forget to say how lovely your bride looks, thank the parents, best man, bridesmaid for the part they played in the day, and thank the guests for coming and buying you pressies.

Oh, and get a pre-emptive strike in at the best man

Basically although its good to allude to something, actual stories can be highly embarassing for the poor chap! In addition, highly embarassing & cringe-making for the audience too. Remember Great Aunt Maud probably doesn't want to hear how her Little Johnny was chased naked around Amersterdam with a banana up his chuff!

My best man was read the riot act by one of my Aunts before he said anything!! But you'd have to know the Aunt

I think you've got to thank the bridesmaids & give 'em a bouquet or something.

As SWRT Wannabe says, all the above but keep it short n' sweet and then sit back and let the best man do his thing. Its your day after all and why should you sweat over a speech ? Buy a small gift for each of the bridesmaids, and hand them over at this moment.

I'd like to mention that I have planned a surprise for my new bride returning home after the wedding.
I have decided to get the entire house refitted with new carpets....
Unfortunatley there has been a delay in the carpet delivery, but I can assure everyone here that she will get her underfelt tonight ...boom boom!!!!!
