Have a good one for what it’s worth………
Why does SGD get overlooked every year? It always swept under the carpet yet we are virtually force fed St Patrick’s Day celebrations.
I was in the pub on St Patrick’s day and happened to be wearing a England polo shirt when some bloke ambles over and tells me that I shouldn’t be wearing an England shirt as it was disrespectful – WTF?!?!?! I’m English, in my home country why should I celebrate something that has nothing to do with me? Besides I personally don’t need any excuse to get drunk
Don’t get me wrong I'm not anti Irish in any way shape or form, it’s just a good example. I just think it would be nice if the English could become patriotic other than during a conflict of some sort or when a major international sports event is taking place. What do you guys think?
So much for the campaign to get SGD made a bank holiday, 79184 signatures pathetic really
I’m off to celebrate by slaughtering some dragons!

I think st george's day is only going to be recognised if it's made a public holiday. personally i'm not bothered either way, but more holidays would be a good thing.

They have been saying about it on Capital Radio all morning, not much on the tv about it. I have my SG flag flying in my window, its been up all week. Will also be out tonight to have a beer to celebrate. Might see if can pull some dragons.
I have also signed that petition and sent the mail to loads of people getting them to sign it. I think it should be a English Holiday. I'm all for getting more time off.
Happy SGD everyone.

Happy St. george's day one and all!
Yep agree 100% moomin, its a f**king disgrace that more fuss is made about st. patricks day here (in england for those that have forgotten) than SGD.

Happy Saint George's Day everyone.
Agree with Moomin (and me being a Scot too). I'm not the least bit offended by St George's Day.
Wearing football tops in any pub is a bad idea. Most of my local pubs won't allow any football tops as it causes too much bother.
Since Saint George was a Tribune in the Roman Army, the "Roman sandal-wearing" brigade can hardly complain.

Pleased to see it's not just me who feels like this.........and I wasn't having a Meldrew winge moment
This royal throne of kings, this scept'red isle
This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars
This other Eden, demiparadise
This fortress built by nature for herself
This happy breed of men, this little world
This precious stone set in the silver sea
This nurse, this teeming womb of royal kings
This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England
This royal throne of kings, this scept'red isle
This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars
This other Eden, demiparadise
This fortress built by nature for herself
This happy breed of men, this little world
This precious stone set in the silver sea
This nurse, this teeming womb of royal kings
This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England
