Valve cap stuck on!!!!

Can you put a soldering iron on it? Localised intense heat, get the cap to expand without the valve expanding.
Edit - not sure if this will damage a) the internals of the valve, or b) conduct down to the vulcanising and cause damage there...

Alloy type valve cap, corroded to valve. Can't get the bloody thing off. Any Ideas as i've just swapped my fronts to back and my car is all wobbly round the twisty bits cos my pressures are all wrong.

I've done the WD 40,pliers thing and it looks/feels like the valve is going to rotate . Maybe time for the Zippo to come out

I used to have this problem on my Corrado, used boiling water straight from the kettle - the localised heat thing again, still needed pliers though.
Don't know if I'd like to do this with decent alloys, these were the originals, so bit flaky anyway.
