And they have the authority to comment on civillans driving?! Mind you, it was only a panda car so the driver probably hadn't had any proper police driver training! I'm still sniggering. It's nice to see them **** up once in a while!

If he was in the wrong (as i dont know the circumstances other than told on here) he will get an almighty b0ll0cking and probably prosecuted in the same way that any one would.

A few details,
- 30mph speed limit
- chevrons in the middle of the road
- near a primary school, a nursery and a phone box
- road was damp
- vehicle struck a large van which was signalling and turning right whilst overtaking it, blue lights and sirens were not in use.
I'm not sure if you can make it out but the sign on the grass says "No parking" and the fence has now been replaced with a wall

Oh and there's a chuffin great sign saying "SLOW" but to be fair I don't think the driver would of seen that as it was obscured by the van.... that he hit, that and the fact he was so out of control by that point that he makes Maureen from driving school look like Schumacher

Sorry guys...you did read my least of circumstances didn't you
The van was turning off the road, ie if the police driver had let off/braked ever so slighty, the van would have been out of the way, the accident wouldn't of happened.
Blue lights were definately not in use as was confirmed by the van driver at the scene and the police in a statement to the local paper.
The car was enroute to call, not to one of my loved ones admittley, which is lucky for him...I'd much rather he get to the scene 30 seconds late than not at all. Yes I am having a go at the driver, yes I do think he should get a severe telling off, throw the book at him for me! This accident was so avoidable it's unreal...it was that obvious Stevie Wonder could of seen it coming!!!

he was probably stuffing his fat face with a burger, and the grease on his hands caused him to lose grip, forcing him to drop the can of coke over his lap.

The wages are grossly generous for the quality of people and level of work they do. To use a hackneyed argument from the Firefighters dispute -" we could get the army to do it for half the price"
While I'm on the subject the police also have extremely outdated work practices/perks fiercley guarded by their Police Federation (in my opinion the federation is a hotbed of unresconstructed old style hard liners). We should sack the lot of them if they don't agree to a large pay cut in line with the value of the job they do along with new working practices. Personally I reckon about 15K is easily enough for your standard constable. THey simply arent worth any more than that. People would still do the job

Quote: Are you aware what these people do for you?
fully aware of what they do for me
Speeding fines (potential if I let my concentration slip for a second or accelerate to avoid an accident)
Harrasment-the police regularly stop and harrass me and others
Crime- sod all not interested in any car crime-unless its speeding of course
Personally I'd be happier with the security guard from the local supermarket "cracking down on crime" than the local plod-at least he might actually do something. Unfit for duty and unfit to do most things other than drink coffee and bitch about how nobody appreciates them is how I would characterise most policeman.

BTTT.
I love this picture- shows the "proffessionalism" ROFLMAO of the police!
I spelled "proffessionalism" like that in homage to the idiot (can't be bothered to look at his name) from the other police thread!
