Yeah know what you mean. I could feel my will to live ebbing away watching that one

After about 3 hours I pulled the tape out to see how much was left because I thought there must still be a way to go, only to see about 5mm of tape left on the spool. Popped it back in and it just ended about 2 minutes later. And that was it. No conclusion to the 'story'. Girlfriend and me just sat there staring at the screen in a confused and slightly depressed state for half an hour. Then we went to bed.

The director must have been on some serious drugs. Still don't know WTF it was about.

ok just read a review & we are not alone......ooooooooooo...

its about 24hrs in the life of a group of people living on "magnolia" boulvard. How their lives(paths) eventually cross. That strange things do happen and that all our lives are all linked by one fateful way or another......

now thats cleared that up...

and i think im right in saying, that it was done by the same director as "boogie Nights", that too was off the wall. It also had the same cast which lead me to this thought...

Question

I kinda liked it...But...

Why did the gun fall from the sky at the end??

Coz the kid picked it up earlier on. I was expecting him to just hand it over, or leave it in the cop's car to be found.

Magnolia is one of my fave films. Yes it's odd, but it's cool. The froggies were all CGI from what i recall. As for the soundtrack, awesome!

The 2 disc DVD is good too, as it has the full Tom Cruise lecture thing on it, and it's hillarious!

PT Anderson at his best. Though Boogie Nights is also a great film.

Oh and one for the KS fans, you might notice a slight reference to magnolia in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back Might have something to do with KS not exactly liking this film.
