Cool roadsters?

thought i'd put this here and not "other makes" as its more of a general wondering of the publics perception than an actual question about another make.
its also sunny today so highly topical!
what do people think of these:
Z3..is it to....BMW?
MR2.is to girly?
SLK..is it to posh?
S2000..is it to bland?
as buying a roadster is 95% possey tart i dont want to buy what i think is cooooolio and then discover half the country thinks im a git with a salon!

I think the S2000 is your only option then, unless you go for a Boxster (again, image connotations) or a BMW M Roadster (still a bit Z3-ish though).
BMW Z4?
I think there's a 200bhp MX-5 coming out soon...

Funny enough I brought wifey's MR2 into work today. Stunning handling and well worthy of its EVO mag 5 stars. A match for most standard Scoobies down a twisty country lane, once you get used its desire to hang the back out all the time. Its supebly controllable on the throttle and will beat you up if you mention understeer
Its siting on black 17's, that haven't come out too well in this photo.

A black one parked next to this one at B&Q on Sunday. It looked nice (he must have just spent the whole day waxing it by the looks of it) but I'll skip the leather seats. Only had leather in a car once and hated it. Burnt thighs when wearing shorts and sliding around in your own sweat are not my idea of enjoyable motoring
I love this car in yellow, but then I like yellow Scoobies and yellow Ferraris too
Oh by the way, the colour is pronounced "rerrow"

Tiggs - come on, admit it, you have been playing with the girlies on the MX5 forums!! - I've seen ya'!!!!
MX5 - if its going to be a 3rd car, reliable, fun but sooooooo hard to find an all round good one (The owners of the good ones won't give them up!)
Budget has something to do with it too - if it was to be my main car it would have to be a Boxster!!

Got the wife a Z3 about 2 months ago and must admit it's very nice to drive. Great gearbox & brakes especially. Very smooth car and get 38mpg.
Would be worried if you were over 6ft though as it's a git to get in and out of and not a lot of headroom.

Steve, im reading- but work round surrey on occasion.
pete- you are shrinking- there is NOOOOOO way i can fit in a Z3 and an MX5 is smaller still
ok- latest idea- if i dont fit the honda- is to get a 5k passat for work and a 10-12k westfield (no ned for head room with no roof!)

I know you want something reliable, but how about a classic? There was a gorgeous Austin Healey near where I live the other day - baby blue and cream exterior. With the top down it looked great and a bit more distinctive than the MX5/Z3/S2000 bunch....
Just a thought
