Is taking up 4 car park spaces excessive ?

Unguided trollies in tesco carparks can't be stopped by anyone.
But, parking over the top of the middle cross formed at the centre of 4 parking spaces makes it less likely that dents occur from opening doors. Flip side is it's mean to take up so much room.
If a way exists to take up 8 spaces I'd do it though.

Well if the car park got busy you would then complain about coming out and finding you car "keyed" down the sides.
I think it antagonises people parking like that, and asking for trouble.
I would rather take my chances with door dents.

Crap parking means less space for everyone else and more chance of someone elses door getting dinged.I've got a shed for shopping and would park up close enough to their door to annoy them as much as they've annoyed me.

if everyone was like me and respected other peoples cars then yes it is selfish-BUT guess what i always use 2 car park spaces-because i also respect my car!!
if the car park was full then i would park far so no one could dent it-depends if its busy really

Yup do that constantly Micky or park horizontally across 2 spaces lol. Don't do it when it's too busy though, can just imagine coming back & finding myself blocked in hehe

You can take up 6 spaces if you park it sideways
The stealth way not to antagonise people is to park dead straight, but straddling the next bay by less than a foot, as if you've misjudged it.
However, if the car park is busy, or I think it will be busy by the time I return then I just park normally at the furthest possible point form the entrance. I personally believe its bang out of order to take up 2 spaces if there is any chance that the extra space will be needed.
