Just £13.52 a month, joint cover, 35 and my wife 33 when we took the cover last year for £100,000.
Get a few on-line quotes, you will easily get a better deal than the one you have.

For once my age doesn't work against me (22 at the time). Nic and I got life insurance (nothing special in the policy) with Scottish Widows for approx £12 PM for a similar payout as Paul.

I was quoted for ~£29 a month 25yr old non smoker for £143k (non decreasing critical illness/death). Filled in the form 'Do you take part in any dangerous sports such as climbing, scuba etc?' Well, I climb so ticked that one. 2 weeks later I get a climbing questionnaire that asked sensible questions, so I filled it in and sent it off. 2 weeks later I get a quote back, £92 a month!!!
Best quote ended up at £39ish .
