Buying a Canon EOS 10D from New York
#1
Guys, I'm off to New York for a long weekend in a couple of weeks and I'm thinking of picking up a new camera when I'm out there. Street price of the EOS 10D appears to be £1500 or $1500, so well worth it.
Is there anything I should be aware of import tax-wise. Would it be wise to send the receipts etc to myself by post?

Try "B&H" they are New Yorks (Maybe Americas biggest camera dealer)
Get someone else to pay for it on their credit card. Or hide the one you use. Send All receipts etc home by post. Stick a name and address label inside the case... make it look like you had it in the Uk.
But remember no Guarantee here in UK.
