Hi all,
Hopefully somebody can help with a technical problem... I have an Eagle PA amp hooked up in the factory at the company I work for and am trying to get it to work with the phone system as a Tannoy i.e. dial specific number to allow anyone with a phone to announce over the factory speakers.
The amp has a telephone line input for this purpose and I have connected an analogue phone line to it but all I get when I dial the extension number is the ringing tone coming over the tannoy ????
Anyone got any idea what I'm doing wrong?... The people who supplied the phone system are useless and I dont have the manual for the amp unfortunately. Tried all the usuall stuff like checking polarity etc etc....

What type of phone system is it?
You often need to put in another card to do this.....can't remember what they are called at the moment.
I know what you are trying to do though!

You need to set the extension patched through to the amp to be auto-answered or similar.
The amp is doing it's job - broadcast the sound recieved from the phone switch.
Do you know what make/model of switch you have?
