Is it just me or is the registration for this completley stupid
I have won an auction and i cant even pay for the stupid thing as i have to wait for two small amounts of money to appear on my credit card statement so i can complete my registration
Does anybody know if these two charges are the same for everyone so i dont have to wait for the transactions to appear on my statement and i can pay the seller as im sure hes getting annoyed seeing as the auction ended over a week ago!!
TIA
Rich

I recently registered with Paypal (used credit card) and didn't have to wait for money to appear on statement.
Did have to when I registered with Nochex some time ago though.

msp1 The UK Paypal user agreement changed recently. Previously you could make a payment immediately, now you have to wait to confirm the card.
Richmilly. It's not the amount you need it the 4 digit reference number associated with it. The amount (memebership fee as they call it) is the same for everyone - $1.95 if I remember correctly.
You could always ring your CC company if you don't have online access (yes I know PayPal dont recommend it )

I registered about two weeks ago and did not have to wait to find these numbers on my statement. My spending limit is capped at $750 until I complete this registration business. Have they chnaged the way it works since then?

The new user agreement came into effect on February 7th 2003.
The changes only affect non-US accounts, if you somehow managed to register as an apparent US customer then you can make payments at once.

I signed up the other night so my girlfriend could use my credit card to pay for a watch in the US over Ebay. It says anything over $100 wont go to an unauthorised address - you do this by getting the 4 digit reg code from your statement (when your £1.95 joining fee gets taken). I havent yet done this and its gone through fine.
Although I did get my credit card company calling my mobile asking if I had spent £169 on my card and then having to answer some security questions. Nice to know someone is watching whose spending what on my card (Natwest BTW).
