just how good r radar detectors?

been looking round on here and u get quite a few people seem to be seeling them-why?-is it cos they not all cracked up to be?-they need money?mmmm-is it really just because thy dont work anywhere near as good as u hoped-opnions please-and make em honest

check out ukspeedtraps site 4 all good info on models & their pros/cons 
obviously cant comment on peoples reason 4 selling but i have both a detector & a GPS road angel thingamy. If im honest the detector can get annoying when it's warning me of automatic door openers etc but it is good at the gatso type thing
