Timewasters on scoobynet??
#1
Recently, Ive been selling a few things via the For Sale section of scoobyenet, most recently, a set of 19" Scooby alloys...I was amazed at the number of totally immorral people who think nothing of making an offer, taking my details, promising to either pick the goods up, or post a cheque......you wait for them and guess wht , they never turn up........this happened an amzing FIVE times in one week witht these wheels alone.....these 'enthusiasts' do not even have the courtesy to tell em that they are no longer interested and allow me to re advertise....
Im selling a CD player on here at the moment, bloke agreed to buy, promised to send cheque....4 days later still no cheque..emailed him 3 times ..no reply....( he may have a genuine excise, but y do people go all silent)...lack of manners/decency perhaps??
Im going to be very cautious about selling on scoobynet in the future,,,,this place sure has a lot of timewasters...anyone has similar experiences...by the way I have also had good scoobynet buying/selling experiences but these bad experiences tend to sour evrything...

Scoobynet is a public bulletin board there is no restriction on who can and can't register.
For Sale will be no different to putting an advertisement in Exchange and Mart.

True to an ectent Nigel...but Scoobynet is a n ENTHUSIASTS BB and hence you would expect a higher standard of conduct amogst supposed enthusiats than when dealing eith Joe Bloggs from the exchange and mart......or not as the case clearly is..

Touch wood, but Ive had no problems buying or selling stuff so far. It pays to check out how long people have been on SN i.e. I trust a 4000+ post member who I see regularly posting on SN to one who registered last month and has posted twice.

Tru to an extent, but just because the user has 4000+ posts to his name doesn't mean he won't mess you around as well.
We all know how some people get posts up that high, sit in the muppet forum for a week or 2.

I had NO problms getting a set of wheels, or selling a dumpvalve.
So far so good, but if you go by the "number of posts" option, then if you are buying/selling to me add 1100 to my post count please

Scooby Regular
I bought my Scoob a few months ago from someone who had only about 6 posts
the first posts this person made, where about 2.5 years ago when he sold the alloys from the scoob that I bought
but i have been pi**ed around by ppl who have had posts in the 1000's
Luck of the draw i guess
