Commandos 2 - can't stop playing it.

Don't know if anyone played and finished the original like a did, a few years ago, but I've bought Commandos 2 for the PC and am totally loving it.
The first game I'd score as 'a classic' in ages.

Daz,
Picked this up yesterday in HMV and looked long and hard at it. I know the reviews have rated it pretty well, but there is something about it that looks almost dated.
You reckon its worth buying?

Cem, trust me - buy it!!
You're right, the backgrounds are static 2D (which you can view from 0,90,180 & 270deg perspecitves.
The original Commandos was one of the highest selling games of the year a couple of years back, and this will be the same.
I've never enjoyed a game more in ages.

You do need patience while playing, but only because its so nail-bitingly dramatic.
As for learning curve - once you master what each man in your squad can do, you're sorted.
Picture the scenario:
You're asked to take a team of 3 commandos into a **** Submarine base, to first locate and steal an enigma machine and then free a capture British submarine and its crew (held in a prison within the base)
You have a scuba diver who has to deactivate the mines in the water
A spy who can pose as a **** general and walk around the base undetected.
A thief who can stalk soldiers and steal from their inventory
A 'sapper' who's the explosives expert.
There's numerous ways of solving each mission and is just so rewarding when all your planning comes off!
