to be honest, I find the build-up hour the best bit these days anyway - see what celebs Brundell chats to on the grid (not when he's licking Bernie's posterior though!) - then seeing a bit of tension before the start....and of course, the highest chances of bumps & scrapes are from the start.....by lap2, prob ok to fall asleep and wake up to the result - it'll no doubt be the scarlet pimpernell anyway!!!

It will be imteresting to seen whether the team (i forget their name) that cut short their qualifying lap will gain anything from starting from the pits. If it rains, they can have the correct tyres, they will probably be full to the brim with fuel - so a whole new dimension of complexity in the tactics!

Well what a brilliant race - 'cos that's what it actually was - cars racing each other.
At first, as the two Ferarris pulled away into the distance, i though "oh no, not that again", but it was not to be the case
I don't think it was the rule changes that made things interesting - because other than a couple of clever tactics at the start, most of the race was run as usual. For some reason, many (if not most) cars were evenly matched - and thus we had 100 minutes or so of non-stop action.
I s'pose i better get some shut-eye though. Roll on Kuala Lumpur

It was an excellent race. I went to bed at 10pm, got up at 2am, and went back to bed at 4pm.
I tried to watch the qualifying life on Friday night from 12-4 or whenever it was. However spent most of the time asleep, hence the revised tatcics. Wasn't helped by the fact I wasn't at home and therefore more difficult to raid the fridge, and no PC to sign on to the net with.
However hope all the races are that good. Maybe I will get tickets for Silverstone after all.
