My motto is train your body not your ego. Point being there will always be someone bigger and stronger in the same way someone will always have a faster car,as long as you enjoy what you do that's all that matters

Bloody hell. Did you injure yourself on a specific occasion, or did your back just get worse over time?

That looks painfull!

I started doing a bit of weight training back in December. I actually look a lot & feel better than I have done in a while, but I'm not making much progress (you get out what you put in I suppose). I just upped my weights a little, but it's kinda demotivated me, cause of the extra effort needed

I'd say I'd rate myself at about 230bhp, and about 1psi of boost

Yeah, sometimes

But most of the time, I do a few routines, then It just tires me out cause it's such heavy going & the thought of more is quite daunting

So I'll be decreasing them a bit, that should hopefully let me stay psyched up a bit longer

I do an hour of cv before I touch any weights so I am already on a high from that, (usually). It takes about 20 minutes, maybe a little more to get the first rush and it gets better from there on in. I enjoy the weights, but it's made better by the fact that I hate the cv stuff, so it's especially welcome to stop that and move on.

Training has a definite positive effect on my mood and energy levels though. I feel so much better, and more cheerful when I am going to the gym regularly.

I really should do some of that as well. But laziness gets in the way.

You're only right about the feel good factor. The more you do it, the better you look; and the better you feel

It's a win-win situation, unless you pick up an injury as above!

I used to love the routines I did and I would feel a lot better after training....tired but a "good" tired.

An hour of circuit training, an hour of weights and an hour to two hours of boxing training.
I used to go with my ex who I used to embarrass at times by lifting more weights than he did!
When we split up, a semi-pro weight trainer became my guide until he went off with glandular fever. I continued training on my own till a severe car accident which damaged my left arm and back more or less permanently put a stop to that.
Even though my back is near enough repaired, I haven't had the time to continue as fully as I used to. Recently the viral type illness has waylaid me further but I shall hopefully be returning back to full strngth soon.

Is all this weight training a Scooby thing? I know those engines can be a bit 'delicate' and the car is a bit lardy but surely you don't have to train that hard just in case you have to push it home?

Cool

Hi banjo, thanks.

I haven't been out and about much, but this weekend I should have some more scenic shots.
I wouldn't refer to the BMW as a bus....more a boat as I get seasick when "wading" round the corners even with sports suspension on!!!!

Creatine is and anagram of "A cretin", with a spare e, funny that, always made me laugh when I went to a proper bodybuilders gym that these 6 stone kids would come in, resplemdent in baggies, belts and itty bitty gloves, do five minutes and then spend 50 quid on supplements !

Pink leotard(SP),legwarmers, wrist sweatbands, and bandanner for me,all colour matched, makes me look so cool.......

Yozas Top Gym Tips...

Always walk around with a water bottle. And whenever you get off a machine you must put the pin down to the bottom of the stack, make sure you dont stray too far from the machine so the next person on it can see that it was you who was stacking it.

In between sets always lean on the machine you are working on,with one hand on the machine and one on your hip. When finishing your set it is essential that you look around the gym as though you are expecting a round of applause.

If you bomb out on a certain exercise, say heavy bench. You will know that your only going to do 5 out of your set of 8,but when you reach 5 you must say 8 out loud, works every time.

Never get changed in the locker room "like you are on the beach"

Later Yoza

Yoza -top gym and good advice, must remember your tips when I go down the gym this morning.. So, if I RMEMEBER correctly, walk around with a water bottle and towel, wearing a head band, walk like John Wayner, so to give an impressions heavy leg work out..!!

No, I'll just stick to my normal routine, to workout bloody hard and today it will be 'back' and 'triceps' plus a few sit ups...

Merkins - they can be found at your local gym.. just watch from a distance and you spot them..

Must go, the gym is calling for me..

OJ..
