Cant make tonight but weds and thurs should be game on.

I have informed the lads and as long as we have all downloaded 1.3 we should all be there apart from Adrock who is on constant late shift (ha ha).

Any map as long as you include Dust 2.

Can you explain one thing, while playing CS what does the speaker symbol mean next to your name in the scoreboard.

When I played last week and the voice comms were working I still didn't have a speaker symbol next to my name.

Does it mean anything?

OK, seems I am not alone in getting the "cannot initialize wavin" message and "you will not be able to use a microphone" seems fairly common. Apparently its not happy with some of the sound options, so I turned mine off but no joy.

It's obviously client related, but as I have said before, I am not ar$ing up my PC to sort out this crud.

I don't really care as some of the clowns I have heard yelling into mikes and playing MP3/radios down it remind me of the first time I ever used a casette recorder, and had nothin to say! Is it really the 21st century for these bozos?

For whatever reason, I cannot directly address any nguk servers, probably because they are set to ignore my connection as my "executable is out of date". A response to update that in CS tells me I need the FULL retail upgrade. No I don't, you saw me playing 1.3 last night, right? Well being there at least.

I don't think Torn is t biased, once you know where both bomb sites are, they're easily checked.

Totally agree about the lag introduced by voice comm so see you, but won't speak to you, later.

the speaker symbol indicates if you have voice working / available or not.

the greyed out ones last nite on some peeps meant it was not working.

we'll see if its ok 2nite.

although its a prob now i think we will need to use it for our sessions and if we play against other teams as no doubt they will use it. it will make a big difference to tactics etc if you can speak not have to type !

although at other times on public servers you're bound to get idiots using it.

so i hope u can sort it bazza and use it when we play.

we only had 55 mins left available to be booked this week.

although i dont know how it works if its still free at say 7:30pm ?

Has your Gas/electric been disconnected ?

The climate where you are must be very different to here cos its always raining when you have BBQs. Maybe you all just stand round the grill in the kitchen and pretend its a bbq

yes of course od sometimes - but u gotta take advantage of weather in this country whenever possible !

i do luv bbq's though we started bqqing in feb this yr on my birthday and i guess we average 2 a week since then ! doing well this week cos we had one sat / yesterday and now tonite usually carry on having them if its dry into november

yeah the weather down here is much better than rest of country

so u have not bbq'd much this year then ?

if i had a digi camera i'd make a record of them all and post them on here just for u !

well not a good game - pc probls meant i was l8 ! laggggy - felt like i was running around in jelly all the game.

and yet i get accused of cheating ! rofl.

voice is bloody good though....could hear u better later on deano but a bit more volumne would be good.

server command had to be turned on every map change ! i think there is a client side command - voiceenable 1 or summat i will check it out.

did any ct's on survivor have voice working ?

does anyone get voice on other public servers but not when we play ??

Its a very poor cheapo mike. One of those long and thin on desk stand.

When I was close I was getting muffled, futher away its clearer but quiet ?

I'll try tweaking.

Whats yours = boom mike from your headphones or on a stand ? It was the clearest I've heard on any server.

Love that last map. just the village bit is superb - what on earth is the A-Team doing there ??? Does it mean we get to build a tank

deano, ive got a microsoft gamevoice and the mic with it is quite a good one. yeah its a headset mic.

get yourself a decent one it will a difference. noise cancelling one is best.

yeah survivor is kewl.. so is torn although i think maybe t biased a bit.

nice to see u puff, a bit l8 but !!! hope u all around for wed / thur. mist try sort voice for everyone.

u all run voice_tweak.exe ? can u get voice on other servers ????

OK more voice tweak info....

on the console voiceenable 0 will disable voice (useful for public servers at about 5.00 pm when the kids are on )

voiceenable 1 enables

voice_loopback 1

will enable you to hear you own voice + see your name on the right. Haven't tried this one yet. Should enable people to test their own voice quality without having to spend 5 mins at the spawn point checking mikes while the opposition rush to kill you

Probably best to use with headphones only to avoid feedback.
