That's great for you Regacy, I'm lucky enough to be in the same position and I always do my best to make sure I attend these courses. After all I'd be daft not to.....wouldn't I?

Yeh they pay for my courses
And no, on the odd occasion they fall on my days off, if I've not planned anything else, I'm quite happy to give up my time.

I'd mark the card of any employer who tried to shaft me and get my time for free. Then once training was complete I'd get another better paid job with a better company and tell the boss straight to his face what a bag of sh1te his company is (I've done this BTW and it felt great). They made me work out the full notice period and much to their chagrin I did as good a job as always- right up till the last minute they were paying me. Then **** you and out to the pub with all my ex-collegues (except my boss who gave them a written warning the next day for disloyalty)

WOW!!! a written warning the next day for disloyalty
Can you do that?
I'd love to see a copy, can't see how that would stand up in any court of law.
Sounds like an invite to an industrial tribunal and a cheque for compensation all wrapped into one!
