I started to a couple of years ago ... got some very thin, close-fitting unlined leather gloves and found it more relaxing cos you don't have to *grip* the wheel, you can just rest your hands on it .... sounds a bit Swiss Toni now I've written it

I had a pair of stringback driving gloves bought for me once. They live in the car permanently.....in the boot as I use them for keeping my hands clean when changing the wheel if I get a puncture.
Other than that, a pair of Sparco gloves for trackdays/cold days.

I also frequently drive barefoot. Much more 'feel' and better control, I find.

Ok.. Not a condemnation of driving without shoes but... It's illegal isn't it? Fair enough it might be one of the more ridiculous driving laws, but what a b*st*rd it'd be to get pulled for doing 35 in a 30 just to get a telling off and end up getting fined for going commando in the foot department..
