I started to a couple of years ago ... got some very thin, close-fitting unlined leather gloves and found it more relaxing cos you don't have to *grip* the wheel, you can just rest your hands on it .... sounds a bit Swiss Toni now I've written it :D

TelBoy 05 March 2003 01:49 PM

More glove wearing "types" here!

brickboy 05 March 2003 01:57 PM

Cheers Telboy -- yes they're just my type of people :D:D:D

TurboKitty 05 March 2003 02:03 PM

CarpetCleaner 05 March 2003 02:08 PM

I got a nice set of sparco racing gloves when I take the Corrado out for a thrashing

scooby-new 05 March 2003 02:36 PM

Never worn gloves as I don't have enough balls to hack the looks! Would love to try though.

bros2 05 March 2003 02:48 PM

Alternatively have a leather steering wheel. Works for me.

yoza 05 March 2003 03:10 PM

Only when its not my car........

FERRARINUTTER 05 March 2003 03:33 PM

............or when I'm waiting for the lads from the heist, also wear a mask......

NotoriousREV 05 March 2003 03:33 PM

I've got a nice pair of stringbacks for sale if anyone's interested ;)

TonyG 05 March 2003 03:45 PM

I had a pair of stringback driving gloves bought for me once. They live in the car permanently.....in the boot as I use them for keeping my hands clean when changing the wheel if I get a puncture.
Other than that, a pair of Sparco gloves for trackdays/cold days.

SUNDAY DRIVER 05 March 2003 04:19 PM

Gloves should only be worn in conjunction with helmets. No helmet,No gloves. No exceptions.

SUNDAY DRIVER 05 March 2003 04:20 PM

Gloves must only be worn in conjunction with helmets. You dont need a helmet-you dont need gloves.

FERRARINUTTER 05 March 2003 04:36 PM

<rips packet, unfolds, places protection on helmet>......wow it feels different driving the car now.........

VW Camper beside me - girls tittering.........

Mossman 05 March 2003 04:59 PM

Hammy Hamster 05 March 2003 09:13 PM

Sheepskin mittens tend not to work too well.
;)

KNOWLESY 3 05 March 2003 09:24 PM

My mum had some sheepskin gloves once, got a real telling off after I had used them.............

Black Cat 05 March 2003 09:35 PM

lubo 05 March 2003 10:21 PM

ROFL dont even wear shoes! Try it

TurboKitty 05 March 2003 10:26 PM

I also frequently drive barefoot. Much more 'feel' and better control, I find. :)

Popeye P1 05 March 2003 11:26 PM

I'd feel like a right prat wearing gloves.

lubo 06 March 2003 12:42 AM

yeh emma never drive with *shoes* on! Yuck. Hehe much more sensation wivout

JapSport 06 March 2003 01:09 AM

Ok.. Not a condemnation of driving without shoes but... It's illegal isn't it? Fair enough it might be one of the more ridiculous driving laws, but what a b*st*rd it'd be to get pulled for doing 35 in a 30 just to get a telling off and end up getting fined for going commando in the foot department.. :(

Dizzy 06 March 2003 08:21 AM

lol @ Mr. Gardermister :)
I wear gloves and fireproof overalls and a lid :D

londonpaul 06 March 2003 01:03 PM

Dazzler 06 March 2003 02:48 PM

I prefer the string-back numbers myself ;D
a la Alan Patridge.

daiscooby 06 March 2003 02:56 PM

As an aside it is illegal to drive in bear feet. don't ask me why I don't know but it is.

stevem2k 06 March 2003 03:12 PM

^^^^^ I would expect the RSPCA to get a bit miffed about this ^^^^
