Dunk

Whats being talked about is a break up of the company, i.e bits get sold off individually to trade buyers / venture capital firms.

If you are working for the logistic / commercial unit, I'd imagine it would carry on as a going concern, with a new owner and new management

(p.s I dont work for Hays)

Merkin, exactly. I do work for Commercial who make a very good profit. To be honest, I think it can only be a good thing for the staff. The new buyers can't treat their staff much worse than Hays did.

It just annoys me that the new CEO has been so gutless about the whole thing. No real effort to integrate the other parts into the company, just gives up and sells up.

The staff here are rightly concerned for their jobs, but its the people higher up, like myself, who are more at risk.

Hope we find a buyer soon to put peoples minds and rest. The only real big player in the same market is Iron Mountain, who are unlikely to purchase IMS due to the monopilies and mergers commision getting involved.

Mind you i am supposed to be working on a new web based tracking system for the dx mail, but the project is only running about 6 months behind.

Typical Hays project really !!!

Don’t worry mate it’s hard to keep track of what my company is called week to week. In the past 5 years the company I work for has been called M.E.B, Midlands Electricity PLC, GPU Power UK, GPU Power Engineering, Aquila UK and Aquila Network Services. It’s become kind of a running joke amongst employees and our customers cannot keep track of what we are called. And we are up for sale again at the moment, but no one wants us because we’re over a £billion in debt and Aquila over in the US(which are in financial troubles) are asking I think £1.4billion for us with the debt, our company is a laughing stock I think the nearest offer was £170million.

Tim.

Tracking Nick?

I know all about tracking & can help design & implement all sorts of tracking systems - from realtime vehicle tracking to hub/spoke type stuff & simple parcel tracking.

I'm sure you've got it in hand but..
