I'd just like to say I'm a bit upset at the current moderator bashing that seems to be going on.
If a thread gets locked/deleted/moved everyone is up in arms about it, and starts giving out to the mods asking why, why why!
Why? well, probably due to the thread being RTM'ed, and the mods have to listen to that, and then take action.
having your thread locked or deleted or moved is not a life and death situation, if it worries you that much then I think you need to step away from the keyboard and have a little chill out time, as it's only a BBS.
I'm not having a go at anyone in particular, it's just that the mods get a hard time, and without them this BBS simply could not exist.
I am NOT saying some threads are more worthy than others, or anything like that.
I'm just fed up with the mods being painted as people who lock threads they don't agree with and leave others, that they do, alone. It's a thankless tasking being a mod, part of me wants to be one, but then, seeing the bashing going on, part of me does not.
So, step back, chill out, leave the mods alone. Once you are on thier VIP list, you are never coming off.

Agree, I had a couple of threads locked and I know how annoying it is, but someone has to reign them in when they get out of control, it's a thankless task.
When I looked at it from their point of view they were quite right. I just think a bit more now about what I actually mean to say before I post.

Markus, I think my point that my thread was no more sexually oriented than another thread that has been allowed to run is valid. I'd still like a genuine reason for my thread being locked because the excuse that it's sexually oriented is obviously not the case.
Generally I think the mods do a good job, but in this case the rules are clearly being applied randomly. I'd like to know why.

I don't have a problem with my threads being locked or deleted, but I do object to having the same feeble excuse trotted out time and time again, when other threads clearly breaking the same 'rules' are left alone.

Emma - Email the mods and ask them rather than posting up asking why. My reason is that people will start to get completely fed up of seeing you repeating the same thing again and again, and then it will get nasty, as that is, unfortunatley, life and the universe. I don't mean this in any nasty way, just saying it as a friend. Sorry if you find this offensive, it's not meant to be

No Markus, I don't find it offensive, but I do think we deserve to know what is allowed and what isn't.
I believe my thread was locked because of the subject matter. The excuse that it was 'sexually oriented' is rubbish. This is just the type of discrimination that I was on about in the thread. It's fine to talk about M-F sexual relations but you're not allowed to discuss sexual situations involving transgendered people. I was hoping that by asking for a reason for my thread being locked, I'd find that this is not the case, and there was something I'd missed. Sadly it seems apparent that I was right in the first case.

a few words spring to mind
Face Fits
One rule etc etc
no consitency whatsoever, re the modding of forums
I dont have a problem with my posts being removed, deleted, moved to muppets etc
But there is no logic, or very little logic, unless you look at the comment above re face fits etc
Eventually people will move away from this BBS if it continues

<bashes sammy with a big dead wet fish> There you go, consider yourself bashed.
If any other mods do want bashing, just ask, big wet dead fish at the ready

Is it just me or am I missing the point? I tend to take this as a "meeting place" where I can chat with like minded people and chat about things, laugh and joke and talk techie with people who wont yawn and look at their watches inside of 5 seconds of me saying "Injector duty cycle" zzZZZZZZZZZ oops If you were in a pub or anywhere with a group of friends and one person kept piping up with the same old crap and were constantly told to "please shut up", they would get the hint? Ok, you feel strongly about the point but does that mean the rest of us do? No.
Why do we demand some "legal" reason?
This is not aimed at anyone in paticular as I have seen this over and over again.
Respect to the mods! This place is still amusing and informative Keep up the good work

There are things in the pipeline that will, judging by the comments above, answer a lot of your questions. Although things won't change overnight!
Remember we have lives/jobs etc as well!
Please be patient, Alex

Markus stop being such a sycophant.
If someone has an issue with a moderator action e-mail them. They all have their e-mail address published.
If you have a problem with a moderator contact Simon.
Pretty simple really, it would save the constant "why did you delete/move my thread posts" which only turn into arguments and are counter-productive. These arguments only serve to further damage this BBS.

I have only had 2 threads moved to muppets out of all the posts I have made (which I know isnt a lot)
and both of those were deserved moves in my opinion
Its the lack of consistency that is annoying, one thing that was mentioned in another thread re having a private over 18's forum
Good idea in my opinion, as anyone, no matter what age etc, can view these forums & threads, and some of them shold be restricted
especially when I know my nephew (9 years old) can potentially read some of these threads
Hopefully it will get better

Simply if you dont want your 9 year old nephew to risk seeing it on here then it shouldn't be posted on ScoobyNet. ScoobyNet has always been a public forum.

MATTeL, if the no sex trauma thread is acceptable for the board I can't see why my thread isn't. I wasn't discussing it elsewhere because I don't see that talking about it here is inappropriate.
Simple as that.

Nope, won't argue over anything, but I do feel strongly about this. Besides, why should I not respond to comments that are aimed, at least in part, at me?
