Simon, there are some pretty good books about. Depends what you want it for, but assuming its Web based stuff:

Wrox press do XML IE5, XSLT, Professional ASP XML which are all excellent.

OReilly also do XML in a Nutshell and XSLT.

I've got all the above and have found them invaluable.
