I'm after upgrading my current phone, and the Siemens SL45 has caught my eye, has anyone got one of these? Thoughts, Comments?
Is there anything anybody would recomend me considering ?
Thanks

sl45 is a wikkid phone. may be worth waiting for the GPRS phones to be more widely available, but it depends if you need data and voice.

Hi Thorpey,
Not sure about the OS on the Siemens but I would, IMHO, always go for Nokia. Currently running 7110 and 6210 - the latter is very good and very easy to use. AVOID Motorola - appallingly difficult to use
Cheers and see you soon,
Mossman

Another vote for Nokia!
No only are they dead easy to use, but the phones tend to be "compatible" as well. 6110, 6150, 7110, 6210 all use the same batteries, car kits, hands free etc!!
mb (just got a 6210, after having all of the rest)

My 6210 is playing up good 'n' proper.
Has developed a v. annoying habit of turning it's self off mid phone call or text message.
Time to ring Orange and get is swapped I think. I have heard of a couple of other 6210s doing this as well.
The best phone I've had though (all Nokias).

ChrisB,
a colleague at work had similar problems with her (Vodafone) 6210. She thought that it might be the on-off switch, but i reckon a dodgey battery contact.
Mine (Orange) seems OK so far, after two weeks. Now all that i gotta do is get the 6210/iPAQ connection sorted Maybe i can't afford HSCSD, but (slowly at 9.6K/14.4K) posting from anywhere sounds great!!!!

The HSCSD works a treat.
I might try roughing up the battery contacts and see if that makes any difference.
On the other hand, I've just been reading some old posts on i-chat from people with the same problem and they also mention software errors.
New handset for me please!
