I ordered the Umax Yamada DVD-2100 last Thursday and it turned up on Friday!!
Basically £65 for the player and £5 for 1-2 courier delivery.
A very good player! DVD picture is better than my Pioneer DVL919 (top of the range player 3 years ago!). The way to tell is to play a movie with a dark scene and the black usually gets a little blocky, although there was no blockiness with the Umax player!!
According to DVDHelp it will cope with the following media & standards:
CDR
CDRW
DVD-R
DVD-RW
DVD+R
DVD+RW
VCD
SVCD
XVCD
XSVCD
MP3
And lots more, check out the link for full details!
As a bonus the player is mutli-region out of the box, and I've tried it with Region 1, Region 2, Region 3 and Region 0, all of which worked faultlessly!!
And it's not a bad looking player:
Cheers
Andy
PS - No connection with SVP Communications, otehr using them for cheap CDR's and a very cheap, yet multi functioned DVD player!

cyberhome have moved on a bit - the new 505 is a cracker - if you need to be able to play all types of cd-r based mini dvd and vcd then it is probably is the one to go for.

Andy,
got me dvd unit yesterday (I was off on a days hol) & I am well impresed. I am going to order another one today for the bedroom.
Havn't tried the cdr's yet though, BUT they came branded as Imation, which are great quality cd's
cheers
