Cool

Anybody know of & recommend any week-ish long driving courses where you can take your test a the end? The eldest turns 17 in may & Mrs D would like to enrol her on something like this during the summer holidays.

Thumbs down

I've never heard of a good thing said about these type of courses.

You pass the standard driving test quite quickly (which isn't hard!), but your overall standard of driving is pretty poor.

I know of one person who has gone this type of course - he's written off 2 cars and has been in countless other scrapes.

Sorry if this looks like I'm pouring cold water on your idea, but I wouldn't recommend you get your daughter to do a course like this.

Andy.

Cool

I personally would prefer she did an hour a week for a few months, but her mother is one of those who won't be told.

Besides, as far as I'm concerned there is no real rush for her to learn. She can't afford her own car & she'll be borrowing either the Scoob or the Sierra over my rotting corpse

When I did my test, I had booked 10 lessons over two weeks with the most recommended driving school in the area. I had booked my test as soon as I could in advance of the day I wanted (months in advance if I remember). Obviously your girl will also need to book the theory test now, so I'm not sure what the procedure is now. Can you apply for proper test before passing the theory part?? Best have a look at the DVLA website for that.
