This is the boiler in my house. Its a crappy compact all in one unit.
This is the bit I need, apparantly it is called a "Blending Valve" and I am reliably informed it is made by "Oventrop", a German company. I would do nearly anything to get one of these or similar installed! My plumber tells me that there are none in the country and he cannot get hold of one etc, someone must have one? right?

I have contacted them, but they have told me they don't do "things" with red caps on them
The search continues.

I think I have found it out!!
After loads of wasted phone calls, I rang Wilcon homes who built our house, emailed them pictures of the boiler and part, they gave me the installers telephone number, and in turn they have given me the suppliers details.
Every one has been very helpful.
It is a Super Store Cylinder and a Honeywell Thermostatic blending valve. £75.23+vat

Chris, I agree that maybe a cold shower every now and then is very refreshing. However, having lived in this house for 6 months without ANY hot water is very soul destroying. I have perfected the art of washing my hair in the shower without actually getting any water on my body and then washing everything else very quickly.
I would like to point out that I DO wash, just very quickly! Plus, to have a bath and I have to run up and down the stairs with the kettle before getting in. Oh, to have hot water, that would be heaven!

Fingers crossed, we've had the valve out and gave it a bit of a clean. Looks like the water is a wee bit hotter. Hope it stays that way now......
