My 3 year old Seiko Kinetic watch has died - it will not hold the kinetic charge and stops during the night.

Considering this was a £350 watch (not mega 4 a watch I know but still....) where do I stand on getting it repaired?

I took it back to Samuels where it was bought from and they wanted £55 just to send it back to Seiko - let alone repair the flipping thing.....

I think it should have lasted a lot longer than 3 years - where do I stand when Seiko call me back with a repair quote...?

p.s I refused to pay the £55 to samuels (robbing barstwards) - they eventually agreed to send it FOC and get Seiko to quote direct.

The capacitors go in them quite regularly apparently. I dont see you having a leg to stand on, you will just need to cough up what Seiko say and rest in the knowledge that your watch is still waterproof.

Mine did the same thing.

Took it in for a service. I believe you are supposed to do this anyway every 3 years.

£95 for a service----ouch

I had chicken pox just after Christmas and didn't wear mine for 4 weeks. Dead as a dodo when I put it back on and no amount of shaking revived it.

Went out the next day and bought a TAG instead :-)

Ian.

Unhappy

Sheesh! - I should have known better - bitten again by the Shiny Toy Syndrome - it always comes back to haunt me - a £3.99 casio would have outlived it probably

I have decided that as long as Seiko quote <£100 I will have it fixed - it isn't worth paying anymore in my view as what if it goes wrong again.......

CAVEAT EMPTOR - Scoobynet watch buyers - think twice about the shiny kit.......
