Ok - you people have come up trumps in the past and I know a lot of you are from Guildford. Any of you know of a good VILLAGE pub within a stones throw of the A3 in the Guildfordish (10 miles north or south)? I am meeting a mate of mine and want to find a place to meet and maybe grab a bit to eat. I am also paranoid about where I park the Impreza, so if you guys have used somewhere and are happy, that would be good.

 

If you're specifically after a village pub, theres three I can recommend.

Theres The Cricketers(I think) down Burdenshot Lane, towards Smarts Heath Road (just of the A3, then A322 then just outside g'ford)

Theres The Fox and Hounds just outside Jacobs Well.

Theres The Fox at Fox Corner just outside Worplesdon.

Theres The White House (Out and Out pub) and White Lion in Worplesdon.

The Onslow Arms (recommended) in West Clandon.

I can give you directions to any if you like

Just ask DrEvil (Alex). Any drinking establishment iin Guildford he isn't aware of isn't worth going to. He also seems to be on first name terms with virtually every landlord, barmaid and bouncer...

I like the Jovial Sailor in Ripley. Excellent food, reasonably priced, big car park and no kids!

Up the A3, past the Burpham turning, next junction is Ripley. Head down there, at the roundabout, go straight on past and the pub is on the right hand side.

Its by the cannel & lock in Ripley.

Used to be very nice in the summer, Its got a large car park as well.
