FLAT MONITOR THINGY WANTED
#1
I want to change my PC Monitor to one of these new spacesaving thin flat screens.
Ideally I want a 17", but 15" would do.
Does anyone know where I can buy one at a sensible price?
From phoning a couple of places it seems that the difference in price if you want a large screen is disproprotionate to the increase in screen size, ie. from 15"to17" more than double the price.
Also is the screen resolution good on them?
Cheers

If you get a GOOD PLASMA screen then the picture is great if not then I wouldn't bother.. PLASMA screens are still expensive at the moment, any other flat screen is not worth paying the money for IMHO

Prices for TFT flat panels have fallen through the floor recently due to over supply.
Dabs.com are doing a own brand 15" TFT which will do 1024 x 768 for £270 + VAT. PC World are also doing an OEM unit very cheap as well. If you want a brand name, Dabs have the Samsung SM570V for £349 + VAT.
17" TFTs are still quite expensive (£700+) as they are made in much smaller quantities as the 15"s.
Now is a good time to buy!
One question - do you play games? If so, then you might prefer a traditional CRT monitor but for general office-type applications and surfing, they are superb.

I saw the other day that PC world were flogging 15" Iiyama TFT's for £299 + vat, but it could just be their business direct side, cos my local store does not sell em.
