Mobile Phone scams

Could people please let me know of any telephone scams that they have ever known. I'm researching these for work, and thought that this is one of the best places to ask.
I'm interested in the "theory" behind them initially.... such as the one where the woman claimed to break down and asked to phone for recovery (where in fact she was ringing a premium rate phone number)
I'm particularly interested in the mobile telephone variety.
thanks in advance.

Hello
There was one where you got sent a text message, with a phone number to ring to unsubscribe. The phone number was a premium rate one, and had an answerphone with a recording of the engaged signal. So you called again and again....
Steve.

Thanks. (This is a serious question btw )
Anyone know of one that's a text message that tells the receiver they've won a prize and have to dial #90. The warning then says that the caller then gets access to the phone.
a) Any techie here like to tell me if this can be done - I don't think so, but I'd like a DEFINITIVE answer and not just theory or speculation?
b) Any other scams similar to this one?

That one - #90 - was definately crap Burr, certainly not possible on any phone OS available today. Nearest thing I've seen in my time was in Japan where the iMode system was used to spam a message containing a link, this link called the emergency services without asking the users. Pretty disruptive.
You can still construct SMS messages that will crash some phones when recieved - denial of service.
There are plenty of PC apps such as SMS Flooder that would let you spam out messages containing a premium link, but unlike the 'good old days' you're more likely to get caught by your lot before you get paid.
