anyone seen these..............i believe there are 3 movies: Ring, Ring2 and Ring0.

are they as scary as people make out.

Yep Japanese one is much scarier than the US edition.

However, you'll be concentrating on the subtitles more than the film

All very good films. More psychologically disturbing than in your face horror. If you want that sort of film then watch Battle Royale, it is soooooo good

Interested to see if hollywood keep Ring more on the mind disturbing side or whether it just turns out completely pants

Saw the ring in the states last year - was quite good I thought - no yer usual horror type movie

I have seen the US version, i have it on DVD, (found it in the street.) Very good IMO, very subliminal and disturbing, not in your face horror and gore. Deffinately worth a watch i think. The version i have is called "The Ring" i understand the Jap version is a bit more horror on top, but then as said above, you have the subtitles to watch and so miss some of the film.

I saw 'The Ring' yesterday evening without reading any spoilers/reviews beforehand and it scared the **** out of me and my colleague!!! I definitly want to see it again. I wish I could get a hold on the japanese originals. Anyway, everybody should see 'The Ring', it's a MUST SEE!
Reminded me a lot of this spooky picture posted here a couple of months back where you had to concentrate for a minute and suddenly the ghost face apeared on the picture.

My m8 has a copy of the Japanese version. Disturbing but very good he called it.

But when his phone went at 11.30pm after watching the film he nearly shat himself.

I have the japanese Ring and Ring 2 on video. Superb movies. If you like blood & gore then they won't impress but if you like psychological films then you'll love them. Was dubious about a Hollywood remake but reviews seem to indicate it's been done quite well (but still not sure if I want to dilute the power of the jap versions by seeing it).

Just make sure nobody phones you after watching them - scared the crap out of me!!

i started to watch ring0 last night on sky, very slow and after 1/2 hour i got fed up reading the subtitles

I've got the original Japanese Ring movie import - subtitled.

It is a very well made, pyscological (sp.) thriller/horror. The musical score and use of camera angles is the most notable credits to a very fine film.

Thought it was a bit poo really looked foward to it being pretty scary but did nowt for me, even the other half said it was tame. I can see the film will disturb the hell out of some people, with the suspense and all, but it really takes something really bad to give me the heebie jeebies as I ain't scared of owt', well except Raptors and T-Rex(bloody Dino Crisis)
