When I burn the CD to create my video CD everything seems to work OK........BUT - my DVD player doesnt recognizr it (Sony S725).......
I've produced my 3rd coaster tonight and I'm getting cheesed off !! Can some boffin out there tell me what I'm doing wrong etc....?
Thanks

think you are snookered mate !!
maybe you might be able to get a firmware upgrade for it but thus can be a dodgy process and can knacker the dvd player.
do a search with google............

I thought my Samsung DVD709 did not read CD-R's - it is not supposed to. However, it does read Sony CD-R's quite happily and reads CD-RW's fine. IIRC, according to a DVD FAQ, the wavelength of laser required for CDRW and DVD are similar at one end, CD in the middle and CDR at the other end. Most DVD players therefore read CD originals, CDRW and DVD, and some (usually more recent models) read CDR - and for those that are marginal with CDR such as mine and yours, the individual brand of CDR can make a difference - not just quality either as Maxell didn't work. Hope this helps.
