If I knew someone that wanted to download complete albums for example, so he could listen to them before going to the shops and buying the legit version , can anyone recommend a good site thats not just full of dud links that I could point him too.

I wouldn't touch BearShare with a bargepole !!! When i installed it it crashed my machine BIG TIME !! Since then it has been revealed that it contains agent software which monitors your online activities. If you are going to use it then get a copy of something like

yeah!! bearshare is absolute toss. I was using napster but since the various court battles its all going horribly wrong. There is still a fair bit on there, but you have to be patient.
I was given the names of a few other engines down the pub the other night....shame I can't remember them!!
anyone know any more???

When you install Bearshare, the spyware it installs is called SaveNow. If you use ZoneAlarm it will ask if it can access the internet. Click no and then go to <Add/Remove Programs> and uninstall SaveNow.
Bearshare still works fine, but without the spyware !!!!!!
Also for the latest Napster v2 beta 10.3 then install Napigator v2.4 to get around the filtering.
Someone told me you could do that
