Andy it has been done.
Questions are a bit difficult to answer, for example, between holidays the 4 of us play once a month, but during my hols, 2 rounds a day is not unusual for me and 1-3 others. The cost per round thing, we use those green fee saver things from Bunkered, so the course may charge £28, but we only pay £14 each, etc.

Totally agree -- that coupled with people's lack of courtesy in allowing a faster group to play through. I get bored with golf after about three hours, so I have a good round if the three hour point occurs around hole 16, but a bad one if it occurs at hole 12.
I once got let through by a 2-ball on the 12th and when we teed off on the 18th they were teeing off on the 15th! I reckon they must have been on for 5 or 6 hours!

I was going to rename my car the: TANGO TARMAC TERRORIST
Until Jane (Nito's better half) suggested that: TANGO TREE TERROIST is probably more accurate!! Anyway I wasn't aimming for the tree, I was going for the ditch!!!

Where's that?
There are a few (not many at all) in the north of England, but primarily is aimed at the the better areas of the UK
I assume there must be something similar down south, but honestly don't know.

Done
(British) Lion
re the time for a round....
My old man (70 - age not handicap) plays in a 3-ball with an 86 year old...they play 20 holes twice a week (20 holes because the hill on the 18th is too much for the old guy to manage, so they play 2/3/4 again), and they have never taken longer than 3 hours.
Then again they dont hit the ball far enough to lose it...me on the other hand, well thats a different story !!
