My girlfriends car has died and she has her heart set on a Citroen ZX 3 dr Volcane 8v or 16V ideally in blakc or dark green but white at a push and red only if necessary. I've seen quite a few and most were crap, rusty and clocked etc, but I've seen 2 that are interesting. One is an 8V red with about 55K on the clock , good nick apart form one front of a wing which has been resprayed and colour is a bit of a bad match and a dodgy oil sender unit which leaks abit. Owner asking about 2K for this and it has a full dealer service history and mots etc to back up the mileage. The other is a really good nick ZX 16V which the owner is desparate to sell. The car has a major hesitation and feels a rather flat below 4500 rpm which leads me to think it could be a fuel pump or engine sesnor problem but no warning lights come on and the oil presure is good and its burning no oil. This chap has just had a kid (last night) and is desparate to sell and has dropped from £1900 to £1200 and it has a good dealer service history and MOTs to back up the mileage apart from the last 10K miles and its done 97K and externally is immaculate. I'm a bit stuck as the first one is great and the second one could be a steal as i don't think the engine problem is at all serious and its a much nice car to drive and look at. I'm really stuck as what to do as I have to buy one for this Friday !!
I'm very indecisive today so any ideas would be welcomed.

Why don't you get the 2nd one inspected by a local garage. For the price of a drink and an hour of your time they will let you know how much it will cost to rectify.

Chelsie , already bought my scoob from there and get it serviced there too. David medcalf buys his computer bits from me too.
I;ve decided to go for the lower milage one as I've spoken to a Citreon specialist who reckons its the ECU which is not uncommon on the 16V cars and these are vey costly to replace.
Thanks for the advice anyway. I'll get her a Scoob one day.
