Have a look at this site, it contains a programme that finds the location of UK STD codes or vice versa to find where a person is ringing from, or handy when replying to adverts

Simpler way is to get a BT Phone Book Companion.
Its a reverse code book, ie.it shows all UK and International STD codes in numerical order and gives their location.
Also includes a list identifying all Mobile network providers.
