I'm sure if we threw you out a hot air balloon at 10,000ft you could manage 170+ too
I thought it was a bit unfair on the cheetah (sp?) it is designed for short sprints, not chasing after an old pickup

Do you not remember Flash Gordon? The body reaches terminal velocity fairly quickly, and I think you'd be pushing it to get as streamlined as a peregrine falcon.
Brilliant programme though, especially when following the equally brilliant latest from Clarkson.

They were doing 158mph (I think) lying flat with a parachute on their back (not open), imagine how much faster chiark could manage if we tied his hands behind his back, and threw him out head first I'm sure 180mph would be possible We can always give it a try
If I'm wrong, then I will admit it is not possible, and appologise

Maybe if we got a traffic cone (preferably with a big D painted on it) and superglued it to his head he could go a bit faster.
p.s. are we the only 3 people left on Scoobynet?

Many thanks for your helpful suggestions. So, you can glue a cone to my head and tie me up before throwing me off a balloon at 10,000 ft and if Robertio's wrong with his theory then he'll say sorry...
To whom, exactly, 'cos I don't think I'd be around to hear it
