Is Scoobynet really so right wing?
#1
Is it because the majority here can all afford a sports car (or a decent car anyhow as this is 'mainly' a car forum), net access (not cheap) a pc, a big a house etc, that there is so much right wing generalisation about poverty, social issues and what we earn etc.
Sometimes I wonder what's happening to this country when people in here say that anyone who earns less than £50,000 pa is thick, or scum, and that to have a £300,000 home is something to be proud of when all we need is a roof and four walls .........
Are we really 'so' morally devoid and divided?

Surely no one on here that owns a scoob earn less than 50k? ok, ok maybe 40k?
How can one expect to have a nice house, car, several holidays a year, track days, trips to the ring on less than that?
..........er in answer to your question.....yes.

NO. It's *not right wing* It *is* a mirror of society IMO. If it's got more radical recently (and I don't think it has BTW) it's because ther's a lot of bad stuff happening to this country and people ar very concerned. These issues are being discussed in pubs up and down the country. It's no different here.

I was thinking of more, ahem, general terms Uncle, not that some of us don’t earn a decent salary etc, cos I know we have some right huge wads in here Mainly that ‘some’ people think the 'rest' of society 'needs' £50 K PA etc 'and' a huge house just to feel secure and of some worth, and that the rest of society who don’t fit this ideal are just plebs to be ridiculed.

I hope that scoobynet is not an accurate reflection of society. I am clinging to the idea that it's people with extreme views (of either 'side') who tend to voice them the loudest.
Otherwise god help us

I echo Uncle Buck's sentiments. We are really pretty moderate compared to the talk in 1000's of boozers up and down the country.
To live any sort of quality lifestyle one needs to earn >£50,000 in this country per household, and one does need to be insulated as far as possible from the scum of society. The scum seem to be getting more and more scummy every day too......ever greater funds will be needed by us scoobynetters to buy the necessary levels of insulation. High walls, exclusive properties, expensive alarms, 2nd and 3rd homes in des res areas, large dogs, chunky firearms, and close connections with the great and the good, including the most excellent police.
Long may it continue. Let the scum eat burgers, watch corrie, and travel on scum trolleys (busses).
Viva la dolce vita.

From reading your views Jye_o i can hazard a guess at your red roots.
i used to tell the likes of you to fek off with your militant worker at uni - lol.
You try and empathise with the scum rather than punish. Youd rather give the criminal underclass a holiday to barbados with free cinema vouchers than bread n water and a good kicking from the old lady they just mugged.
A left wing guardian reading leninite if ever i saw one - lol.
Left is far too soft for this day and age and the sooner you learn it my lad the quicker you can earn 50k+ and protect yourself from the scum that will rob your false teeth.
Shrek stands for tough justice.
Case dismissed as always.

Its Jye_0 shep, if you cannot get even this simple fact correct, well, there ye go. I never went to uni soz that’s prob why I’m not on £50 K PA. Born and bred a working class socialist OK, but not as you so euphemistically put it, very red. I guess your generalisations about my background are a just a wee bit off, just like the rest of your hazy 'radical' views on our society.
--Case dismissed as always--
I bet you wish it was that simple, but as you know it aint. I’m sure you'd have rid this planet of everyone who isn’t you if this 'was' the case though. Thank god for at least our feeble attempt at democracy I say.

I agree a £300,000 house is nothing to be proud of Jye_0 as its going be a shack for that sort of cash.
We all have two hands two legs and a brain some to choose to make use of these assets others decide not to.

OK, I admit it. I'm right wing.
Having said that, after 18 years of Tory rule, the Conservative party needed a wake up call. They got it in the form of New Labour winning the 1997 election by a landslide. When Labour took power I feared the worst. It seemed for the first few years of Labour rule, they weren't doing anything too damaging though and I breathed a sigh of relief. But, since winning their unprecedented second term, Labour seem to be doing everything in their power took **** this country up.
Despite the fact that SN may be biased towards the right (Scooby owenership does tend towards the above average wage earner), there are countless posts from disenchanted Labour voters. These cannot be dismissed as lightly as some die hard Labour supporters would like.
Despite my right wing bias, I was able to see that the Tories were beginning to become arrogant and were pushing through some unpopular policies which I for one didin't like. They needed to lose an election to get them to wake up and smell the coffee. I was capable of criticising the then government about many things.
It seems however, that regardless of what Labour do, the left wing equivalent of me, cannot, and will not, accept that Labour may have got the even odd thing wrong, let alone **** this country up as bad as it has (IMO).

Jye_0 I think it is obvious what I mean.
Its far easier for people to winge about their particular circumstance than to do something constructive about it. The majority of complainers and hard done by types are just plain lazy or dull as ****(through choice)
If you want to learn and get a reasonable level of education it doesnt cost. Instead of sitting around allday watching bargain hunters with that patronising git on it why not go to college the majority of the courses are subsidised as you will be aware. The reason they dont is because its just to easy to sit there and take the easier (at the time) option.
Lol Jye_0 I own four houses I bought two small one bedroom places last year in the east midlands that I rent out, a 3 bedroomed house in Bucks that I rent out and my own 5 bedroomed Pad which is the only one that I have a mortgage on. I wasnt born with a silver spoon up my **** either and have had to work long hours and take some rather serious financial risks and bend a few rules along the way.
Lol that bloody shed of mine has cost me a fortune I nearly kicked the unreliable pile of crap the other day.

What is wrong with A - levels Unclebuck then get a job and do some evening classes at college or how about an open university course. Do they cost 21k.
fair enough if you want to spend 21k to do some law degree in house conveyance and then get 50p an hour whatever tickles your fancy.
