GPL - This week's hotlap track - Sandy Zandy
#1
I don't feel I have earned the right to choose this weeks track, Simon and I have done identical times to the nearest 100th of a second but generously Simon has said I beat him when watching a merged replay with both cars side by side, or mine slightly infront I have only done the one sub 1:05 lap, Simon has done many, the honour, perhaps, should have been his, but what the heck
This week I think we should pack our buckets and spades and head off to Holland and the Zandvort track.
Not one of my better tracks, so I think there maybe room for improvement, my PB to date is a 1:26.16 in the trusty Lotus.
Good luck all and let the hotlaps commence.
Cheers kernel
P.S. What do people feel about hotlaps at one of the 3rd party tracks?

GREAT choice
I LOVE this track, but am generally crap on it.. so I am looking forward to being forced to get more consistent, etc.
I'm all up for third party tracks. Maybe we should ensure that they are stilla available for download though.
Cheers

I'm having enough trouble keeping up on the standard tracks without getting used to the new ones as well!
As long as we do the Nurburgring last and take two or three weeks over it, I don't mind!
Now where did I leave my bucket & spade...

My reign as speed king is rapidly coming to an end, I had a quick go earlier tonight, got a new PB and broke into the 1:25 bracket, but well short of your time Simon. So far a 1:25.96.
I will have another go tomorrow night and make available a suitable replay.
Seems a hard track to get a lap that one feels happy with, still new PB so no complaints. Simon, please don't try too hard on your next attempt
Cheers Kernel

Doh - 1:34 !
Simon - I contributed to a thread about 6 months ago about how *fantastic* the physics were in toca2 (sic) ....you said forget about it and get GPL.
You were right - been playing less than a week and it's fantastic I've only done 14 laps of Zandy and about 20 of the 'ring so far, but the ability to set it up into the corner is amazing. Will WSC beat this?
Has anyone who's played this game also driven the Nürburgring for real? How close are they - I've got some driver training there in summer and am hoping to use GPL to familiarise myself with the track. At least I'll have more traction in the Scoob
Thanks
Richard

I've not been any quicker round Zandvoort so unless someone else does looks like Simon takes back the crown
Simon, I see you were at Castle COmbe on Sat, should have arranged to meet so I could take steps to stop you winning the next one
Good lap, regards Kernel

I've only done maybe 40 laps round that circuit so it would be good to have an excuse.

Did anyone watch Simon and myself's replays side-by-side using SpyGirl? I was in front until exiting the very last corner where Simon got the power on much much earlier. If only I could do that ..........
Well done Simon, mighty effort
