Is there such a thing as a tastefully designed CD/MP3 headunit? I don't want animated graphics, wriggling guitars, silver fins or something that looks like one of H.R. Giger's preliminary sketches from the "Alien" movie, but that's all I can find

Think sleek, brushed metal (maybe), simple. That's what I want. Anyone?

My Alpine headunit just tells me what I want no silly graphics nd the thing is really simple looking.

The only tarty bit is it writing "Alpine" when it starts and "See you" when you turn it off!

The new ish JVC stuff is great. Brushed aluminium, classic shape, simple buttons, and a full size rotary volume switch - tasty

I can vouch for the quality of Panasonic

I have the full on major tarty FRX920N, flashing goodness and an extra centre speaker which folds out of the set

Anyone know what the sound quality is like?

I have had always Alpine headunits. Better sound quality than most, many features and they don't look Shi*e.

FFS...

Dont buy a head unit on looks.

My nakamichi MB100 certainly wasnt £1000 just for looks.

Buy on usability and quality. The quality stuff avoids the bling!bling! stuff largely as it's appealing to a different audience...
