Uploading a web page-- any helpers please
#1
I'm having my first shot at designing a web page. Didn't have a clue where to start and don't really want to shell out on Frontpage.
So this week I bought PC Format and it came free with Hotmetal 4.0. It looks like its a version from 1997, but this doesn't matter as I don't want to do anything flash.
So last night I had a muck about and thought I had it sussed until I tried to upload it.
Was ok with my ISP's ftp address, and my mail name and my password. But then their was a space for path. Looked through on line help on both the app and my ISP, but couldn't find what I am supposed to key in as the path. Each time I tried to 'publish' my home page it kept saying that there was a failure and this was because my ISP didn't have enough web space, or I didn't have permission to write.
Any help with the format for this line would be very much appreciated.
Many grovelling thanks

Dave,
Ring up your ISP and find out what your www path is.
Cem
[EDIT] Also, I would be suprised if your mail password is the same as your FTP password. [/edit]
